About this event

Amano is a singer and multidisciplinary artist with roots in Kerry and Kyūshū (Japan). Her live performances attune to people, place and season, blending Irish sean-nós with contemporary fusion, new folk compositions and spoken word.

She approaches music through an animistic worldview where the songs and stories of tradition are co-created and alive; not only in our human experiences but within the greater-than-human ecosystem too. Her debut electronic collaboration with Cork producer Kalabanx, THREAD, was nominated for “Album of the Year” and “Song of the Year” at the 2025 Gradaim Nós Irish Language Music Awards.
